Hi,

I have a 95 eclipse GSX. I replaced my suspension with Tein basic coilovers and SPC front and rear camber kits. The car is lowered to the Tein basic specs 1.4" in front and rear 1". The distance between the wheel center and fender edge should be 13.5". I can't check that because my car is still on stands. Replacing rear swaybar too.
Before I can align my suspension, I need the alignment specs for caster, camber and toe. Front and back. I e-mailed tein. They told me to put camber as close to zero as possible. No mention of the other values.
Can someone verify these values or give me the right ones?

Thanks for the help.

Sincerely,

Sven

I'm not sure exactly why you need them before you get the car aligned, considering that's the only way to measure them, but...

Front (Left and Right):
Camber -0.8 to 0.2 degrees
Caster 3.2 to 6.2 degrees
Toe -0.12 to 0.12
Turning Angle Diff. -7.50 to -3.50 degrees

Total Toe: -0.24 to 0.24 degrees

Rear (Left and Right):
Camber -2.2 to -1.2 degrees
Toe 0.00 to 0.24 degrees

Total Toe: 0.00 to 0.47 degrees

At least those were the specified ranges listed on the printout I got from Merchant's Tire

Hi,

I need them, because the shop can't align the car without them. The standard (or stock) values don't work with lowered cars and Tein couldn't give them to me, so that's way the post.

Thanks for the reply.

Sincerely,

Sven

From the factory service manual for AWD cars, stock ride height:

-Front-
Toe in: 0mm +/-3mm (0inches +/- 0.12inches)
Steering Angle: 31degress 30minutes +/- 2degrees (inner wheel), 26degrees 30minutes (outer wheel)
Camber: 0degrees 5minutes +/-30minutes
Caster: 4degrees 40minutes +/-1 degree 30 minutes

-Rear-
Toe in: 3mm +/-3mm (0.12inches +/-0.12inches)
Camber: -1degree 20 minutes +/- 30minutes
Thrust Angle: 0degrees +/-9degrees

When you lower your car, you will want to set front and rear toe as close to the factory specs as possible. Front toe is adjusted with the steering rack control arms, and rear toe is adjusted with the eccentric bolts in each rear toe control arm. Camber can be more aggressive (negative) than the factory specs and since you are lowering you car, you will be getting more negative camber anyway. Using your SPC kits, you should set front camber around -1.5 degrees and rear camber around -0.8 degrees or maybe a little less. This will look right and ride well for the street. Mine is closer to -1.75 front and -1.4 rear, but up to -2 degrees is still pretty much small potatoes. It's really personal preference.

Best of luck with your install and alignment.
