i got a 96 gsx with stock springs and tokico blues and im bouncil all over the place.
I cannot exceed 80 MPH cause the car is likely to lose control easily. IM thinking is the POS tokico blues any idea what can be done to correct this. I thought on coilover but i read it wouldnt make much difference.

Tokico blues are very well made shocks. I would try to rule something else out before you ditch those.

How old are the blues?
When did this start happening?

^^^^^what he said was good ,,any more info or has it always done this w/ these shocks.

The blues are okay but most say they seem to stiff and dont go back. But on a non-lowered car you shouldn' be overpowerering those shocks and getting that "floating" feeling.

they were installed on a proffessional suspension shop, i got some experience with them before. The only thing i think of is that i got done the lower ball joint recall, after the installation of shock but dont know if that got something to do with the bounce effect?

I had Tokico blue shocks on my old Honda and they got bouncy after about a year of use. :thumbdown I learned from my mistake and got Koni's for my Eclipse.

So Tokico Blues suck?

My opinion is yes and that is from experience. They start out slightly stiffer than stock but degrade quickly.

I wouldn't say tokico blues suck. Any shock that comes from a company that makes the factory shocks on many performance cars should be highly regarded.

The Springs are responsible for holding the chassis up but are obviously bouncy since they are springs. The shocks are responsible for slowing the movement of the springs (dampening and rebound). So if you've got blown shocks then of course it's not going to slow the movement of the springs.

If you bought the shocks new then you should talk with Tokico about them. If you send them the shocks then Tokico will PROBABLY make good on them and get you new ones.

So you are assuming they are good just because they put them in a Mazdaspeed Protege? Have you got experience with them?

Tokico makes shocks for all kinds of performance cars, not just mazdas.

Yep, I have known many mustang owners (and ridden in their cars) with tokico blues and they are excellent (especially for the price), and I've never known anyone to have one blow out.

Do you still have jounce bumpers on the shocks? Some people do not install them or some times cut them (bad idea).... Doing such a thing can cause that shock rod to strike the base valve inside the damper there bu damaging a vital part of the damper causing it to lose force..... This can happen on any speed bump, chuck hole or what ever....

Do your wheels ossilate after hitting a large bump? if so I would say you dont have any rebound force due to damaged BV's

Cheers

i got no idea what is a jounce bumper, i would return them to tokico but i dont have the receipt. So Im screw but every shit like this is always a learning experience.

I will NEVER buy something from tokico again, they SUCK i dont care how long they been in bussines or if they put their shocks on Ferraris.
