Ok, guys. I'm by no means an expert here, so flame me as necessary.
When I was first designing my customer enclosure for my sub (figure 100lbs for the woofer, two amps, and enclosure), I was intending to make it fully removable for autocrossing (I race monthly, give or take, but have only been 4-5 times--still a newbie).
Then I drive my girlfriend's new (used) MR-2 (mid-engine car), and was simply impressed with the handling. Now, I know a lot of that was because of the car itself being WAY lighter, but...then I got to thinking about weight balance.
So, I thought...if I leave my sub enclosure in place, say 100lbs added to the rear of the car, and I don't care much at all about 1/4 times, will this help me, hurt me, or balance itself out in an autocross environment? I plan to do typical bolt-ons with a FP Big t-28 in the end. I will likely have a rear sway bar in place by the time I get the sub in.
Let me know your thoughts.
