Clemson and Simpsonville,
Hey guys, i'm looking at buying new suspension. I want to purchase new shocks and springs. Now i've searched this plenty of times but I never found exactly what I was looking for. My ride is extremly bad, I've had people in the passenger seat hit their head on the roof. I need to do something about it.

First off, I currently have 18's and I hear that this doesn't help having a smooth ride much. I also have some cheap coilovers that were on the car when I purchased it from the previous owner. I also plan to drag race with the car, not too often though maybe once every couple of month. And I also want the car lowered, I want a good drop cuase of the wheel gap, like 1.25 or more.

What I want to know is, with what I got (18's and the ability to be able to drag race and have it lowered a desirable amount) what kind of suspension should I get. I do want a confortable ride becuase this ride is getting really annoying. And please don't bother telling me to get Tein or Koni's cuase I can't afford that. I'm thinking Tokico illuminas or even the HP blues if those will work. I am really interested in the tokico shocks/springs packages. Please, I want as many opinions as I can get and if you own any set ups that didn't cost you too much, please tell me what you got and if you are happy with the ride. Thanks a lot guys

18s definately don't help with ride comfort. I have Illuminas and Sportlines and the ride really isn't bad at all, but I wouldn't mind something stiffer(ie. rougher). With the Illuminas set on 5(stiffest) in the rear, my car still squats bad if I hit the gas and when shifting, but that is to be expected with the springs I have apparently. Sometimes I complain about my suspension to friends and they say they wish their cars rode like mine, and that it rides really well for how low it is and having 18s. GL with your decision, I'm sure some others will add their opinions.

Some have recommended me with the Tokico Illuminas and the Pro Kit. I would like to get the sport lines since they offer more of a drop. Does anyone know anything about the the Illuminas and the tokico springs, or the tokico blues and tokico springs combo? I'm more toward the packages cuase they're cheaper.

Thanks for the help. Sounds like a great deal. But are those low springs going to give me a terrible ride? Are sprint springs good? I am just curious. Don't forget, I already have 18s and that's not very helpful. The biggest reason I want a new suspension is for a better ride. I like how it drops it 2" but I don't want to sacarifice a lot of ride smoothness. Thanks. If anyone has any other deals or ideas, feel free to tell.

Have you considered selling the 18's and getting a 17x8 or something along those lines? this will allow you to go with a taller, softer sidewall for drag. You're basically gonna be slammed on the 18s w/ a 2" drop, and the 18s will be excessive weight for drag. Just a thought. The tokicos should work very well, but i say save up and get the konis :thumb:.
