If you need help, let me know. I just put one on myself. :thumb:

Cool, well I am waiting on an evo3 ported turbine housing because the one on the small 16g has cracks and it doesn't look that great then I still need to buy the ss oil line (hopefully from a shop in san antonio) to hook it up. On a side-note is there any place in san antonio to get some injectors flow-tested. I have some denso 660's but have heard they sometimes flow more and since I only have the safc/logger combo I don't really want anything over 660cc

Anyone plan on going? Ill be making the trip for the 1st time on this setup so hopefully i wont break anything :shhh:

Where will it be at? Marion, Texas? I have not been out to such an event in years. I may just have to make the trip.

I'm honored you have my wheels in your photobucket account. Seeing how I bought them about 9 years ago, it makes me feel good that people still drool over them. :thumb:

The car is not in hiding, I drive it DAILY! Sometimes I may even find a race too. :shhh: I might make it, but I doubt I will run it. I don't have the injector for e85 to run the boost you and Frank run, and I don't have the money to run q16 or vp import just to prove my car is traction limited at the track, I can hit at 18psi on the street and know that. :barf:

Since you think you're ready for Chris, you should seek out Frank. I hear you can find him on Parmer between Dessau and 290 around 5pm. Maybe even on 290 headed out towards the sticks around 515pm. ;)

Not sure if he's ready for me yet..... We need to hear the results of his run with an evo last night.

Details of Evo please? Do you have this Evo covered?

Guess I'll post......Evo that ran Richard last night is our 35R stock motor/ecu/clutch silver Evo IX. In Al's vid it's the one that raced Chris in the 1st and 3rd run.

The Evo was on pump/meth @ 26 psi last night, when we raced Chris it was on Q16 and 30psi. First we ran Rich from a 40 roll...I'm guessing his traction was severely lacking because we put a good amount of distance between us. Rich wanted a 60roll, no problem, we line it up...from what I saw out of corner of my eye was we were starting to pull at the end of third...but then stock clutch wasn't having a 4th gear shift on that one. After that pull, Rich ran into a minor issue which was later resolved. No more runs were made.

Couple notes..I honked the races off, but Rich afterwards said he wasn't able to hear them so he just went after he saw me go. Next time we'll have the passenger give 3 signals before we take off. Thanks for the runs Rich, you and your passenger are good Mitsu enthusiasts to have around.

I honestly think the GST will have a better shot at Chris' "Talon" once it gets the built motor, more boost, and more traction! Rich does recognize his current 7-bolt is pretty tired and worn, but does have some big plans ahead...can't wait to see

Does the Talon have this Evo covered....it's VERY close to call. A much better assessment will be made once we put the Bushwacker tranny in there with the Exedy twin disc clutch.

Wow, Chris' car leaves all over the place!

The Evo is fast for sure, and it's crazy to think that it's on the weak stock clutch. I have a few questions. (I'm not familiar enough with the Evo's ecu setup to make assumtions) You say stock ecu, but does it have a flash? What would be the benefits of switching to an AEM, Haltech, etc.? (besides the obvious ability to tune whatever you want, whenever you wanted) I'm just curious as to the potential gains going from a mod specific flash to a stand-alone.

So, no video of Richard's run? I guess those pesky 50-trim e85 cars are a street worthy race for a ton of "fast" cars. I would have never guessed they could be so potent.

I'm also shocked how this clutch is holding up to the abuse..considering many Evo guys smoke them after 5k miles of soft driving with bolt-ons  Anyhow, we have 2 stock ecu's for the car. When Dynoflash Al was down here...he set one Ecu up for a 26 psi pump/meth map and the other ECU for Q16/30psi. So we swap ECU's over as needed.

The next steps for this Evo are to get the built tranny with twin disc clutch, then build the block. After we do that we'll have to swap over to an AEM setup. The Evo's stock ECU's, especially on the IX's, have proven to handle 500-550whp setups pretty dang good. The great advantage swapping over to a speed density system would be to eliminate the extra point richer A/F ratio the ECU runs the car in the higher gears with more load. IE..the car is tuned for 11.4 afrs in 3rd gear...but in 4th,5th will run in the low 10 afrs. The AEM will do away with that.

Richard and Chris both have respectable and beastly DSM's :thumb:

That is interesting that can't be tuned out with the flash. What type of day to day issues would you have with speed density, or would it just be an issue with major weather changes? (humidity, temp, etc)

I guess I need to spend some time on evom and learn about these cars.

Thanks,
Yea the 40 roll isnt my friend now a days, since you guys have traction i dont have much of a chance, but the 60 roll is my realm :sneaky:

When i ran that evo i was on 22psi, we had a great 28psi tune just before my battery disconnected and reset my ECU, (Stupid save button)

But yea i couldnt hear any honks and i think me and that evo would be very interesting to see next time im in town <--- Next Friday ;)

JMS crew are very cool guys, I bought a complete 6 bolt from them and gave us a great deal. :thumb:

I got a little sick watching that video. :barf: That camera man needed an air pillow or a stabalizer on his arm.

Man, your car is all over the place! WTF

Since its been a little cooler outside the car is really getting sideways in 2nd and 3rd. Its kinda holding me back like I'm in a damn FWD or something. ROFL

I dont consider my car as "fast" at all. But I'm having fun with it getting some close runs. One I get my new trans and get my goal at the track it's gonna get a new setup so I can finally be "fast".
