Airbag Warning
Hey tuners,
I was working on my 1998 Eclipse GS-T yesterday, rewiring the speakers, when the passenger side airbag deployed rendering me unconscious. I was not messing with any wires other than SPEAKER WIRES. I will be taking the vehicle to a local dealership to determine why the airbag was set off. But just to warn you all. Messing with speakers wires apparently CAN SET OFF AN AIRBAG! So be smart and do something I didn't, DISCONNECT THE DANG BATTERY!
Also I am thanking God that I am still alive, I was about 8 inches away when it went off, that could have easily killed me, so please be careful with your own rides. Thanks guys.

Was your center console out? Did you hit the SRS unit with your foot or something?

Fcking goddamned face bombs. You have no grasp of how much I hate the things.
Glad you're still around to pass-on the warning.

That makes two of us that hate god damn airbags.
After reading this, now I have to figure out how to dismantle the passenger side air bag and just put the airbag casing back since my SRS ECU is out.

DANG, I havent heard of anything like that happen before, When you fix it make sure it wont happen again, ide hate to see you or anyone get hurt, i know its dangerous but im getting an aftermarket grant steering wheel so that takes away the airbag on the driver side and im taking the airbag out of the passenger side to make that area a extra compartment....
