Hey there first off id like to say that im glad to be a owner of a dsm and a member on this website. I live in southwest michigan and just aquired a 1998 eagle talon TSI fwd, Absolutely love this vehicle. Shes got a 6bolt under the hood stock 14b turbo (was told 15psi), FMIC all hard piped except intake going to turbo. No strut rust or rear body rust BTW. Has a kinda funky black and grey interior with grey seats that have speckles of blue in them i havnt seen this interior package often (maybe im a nub though). Some Yahoo decided theyd spray paint the interior panels (the wrong way and probably with Dollar general paint) because its craking and flakeing and i can see the stock color which is the gray door panels and plastic trim with black dash. Now for the bad........The only stock gages that are working is the Boost,fuel........temp sometimes. Has autometer pyrometer,air/fuel,boost but there not hooked up.
Question 1: How to go about hooking up my air/fuel gauge properly?
Question 2: Hooked up my boost gage and am only hitting 10 psi......i connected the hose to a t block and one end into a hose outlet on my TB si that right.
Question 3: What color is my Oil pressure gauge wire, I will hook up after market one later but the stock would be good for now, plus i hate dead gauges.
Question 4: The bov is venting to the atmospher and is causing me some idel issues when i let off the gas. How do i go about recurculating the bov, and if i get dsm link i have the option to vent to the atmosphere but is there any long term effects of it not being recurculated?
Question 5: the drip moulding arund the doors and such are starting to flake. are these originally black or do some cars have them chromed out. Im only asking because it looks like cheap paint like the kid painted the interior then painted the mouldings. i dont think it would look bad as a chrome color. so why not just take the remaing black off and leave it.?
I got a used valve cover with the car because the old on had a crack in it, problem is that this new one isnt painted all pretty and such, so after looking up some information here i found a product i didnt know about called airplane stripper or somthing which if i was on a airplane a stipper dont sound bad however this stuff is raunchy as can be, burnt my hands and eyes and ofc i was in a 10x10 well sealed room, basicly i took the intsruction and warning lables and ofc who needs them right. Anyway ive got a nice finished product afterwards So thnx for the good info it helped me out alot, sanding was taking ages. Still need to do a boost leak test. probalby tomorrow. Anyway she dont sound to bad does she?
Btw im sorry for typos and what not, ive been working on this car for about 28hrs straight and am tired as hell. Im sure i have more question but im not running on all cylinders right now. Also im Deffinetly looking for some DSM'ers to hang with in my area (three rivers,marcellus,dowagiac). Im kind of a newb but am eager to learn.

, did a compresion test and i had 145-150 in all except the far right cylinder was 140-145. So thats pretty descent right? After some investigating i found a hose that connects to a elctronic sensor behind my TB, It has two bolt holes on it and looks like it should be mounted flush on the block or something however it had a vacuum hose running to the little nipple it has onit. I hooked it back up and now she runs fine except my BOV dont seem to be opening, The sound i hear between shifts i think is air coming back out the breather...i assume thats bad. what could have happened here. im now not building boost as much or as fast, the car is at my other household so i got to mess with it tomorrow, is it possible i blew apart my intercooler
