im having some electrical issues, and its been about 2 years since ive touched my dsm. just finally getting around to putting the engine back in (nice and built of course) and im having some really frustrating electrical issues. im sure its something i forgot to plug in or a damaged wire or something.

couple things ive noticed is, ignition wouldnt activate the starter but putting a button and manually powering it did. and another is i cant get ecmlink to connect and im not getting voltage on pin 10 on the diagnostic port and pin 1's voltage should cycle , im not getting any. i REALLLLY hope just a simple plug will fix my issues.

another little thing is opening the doors doesnt trigger the lights to come on , the key ring light or the others. the passenger side door used to but doesnt anymore WTF

i cant find the other side of the plug with the same color wires. god please dont say its for something stupid like a charcoal canister or something

i can do some electrical work but this is just driving me crazy :banghead:

I too have an extra wire just like this and cannot figure it out! it is in the same spot too?!

shot in the dark, but could it be for ABS? where does that usually sit?

None of your lights coming on is a result of the door switches giving up on you. Cheap to replace, or you can try to bring them back to life.

That plug looks like it's for the headlights. Maybe fog lights or MAF, I remember they all look similar. Can't recall right now which is which. But since none of them come from that location, I'll say there's a chance it's for the ABS. Which it seems you don't have. So find out what it is, tape it up, and label it.

It can't be for the headlights, fog or MAF because that's as far as it goes. I have one on my non-ABS Talon and it will only stretch to there. I had no idea as to what it was either so i just covered it and left it.

BoostbuddyGSX has it right. That would be the location of the cruise control motor on a 1990.
