just moved out here few months ago, just picked up my second 95 talon tsi awd. i plan on doing some auto cross and some drag racing out at the track.

Also anyone have an extra 2g exhaust system? just found a nice exhaust leak, looks like someone who has never welded tried to fix my piping :(

Welome! Glad to see someone else interested in autocross. I'm going to the one on June 12th. Check out this thread I started for more info on local autocrossing: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/el-paso-area-dsm-forum/402154-el-paso-scca-autocross-2011-a.html and check out this one for Drag strip info: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/el-paso-area-dsm-forum/396696-el-paso-motorplex.html. I see you already saw the cookout thread, hope to get a chance to meet you there! Also don't forget to sign the roll call here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/el-paso-area-dsm-forum/385165-el-paso-roll-call-5.html

Yeah the one here isn't much to look at but they are working on an IHRA certification I believe. Another good website for local racing is Southwest Drags El Paso TX Area Drag Racing & Street Race New Mexico. No weekly meets yet but we are growing rapidly!

There's a couple places down Dyer St that will reweld anything for a reasonable price, it was only quoted 10 bucks to reweld my downpipe flange. There's also a couple places on McCombs if you're more on the NE side of town. Any mom and pop muffler shop would be about the same price. Short of being in a curved section, or in the flex pipe area pretty much anything can be fixed. The only thing you really have to be careful of is if it's a flange make sure it lines up well and mark it with something that will stand out against the metal.

its around the mid-pipe section. should be a really fix if they know how to weld, im off montana and 375, but still really new out here

If you head from montana off of 375 east (towards all the junkyards) theres a muffler place that does pretty good quality stuff for reasonable prices. I got quoted 350 for a custom dual exhaust including piping, the tips, a glasspack, and the labor so im assuming welding shouldnt be too much.

The key to keeping it cheap, is do the most amount of work you can yourself and just having it setup for someone to weld. You may only be looking at 10-30 bucks in that situation depending on the complexity of the work. One of the really nice things about El Paso is every area of town pretty much has pretty much everything you could need.

welcome, and theirs a bunch of muffler shops if you google it on maps i will give a bunch of them personally i've gone to magic muffler up in dyer they do it quick and a nice job for a decent price and hope to see you at the meet

do you know the name of the shop? is it kiko's? if so they are closed now

i like the full systems because then i can just bolt it up myself, or im just gonna get that spot welded up. i dont mind the tsi awd stock exhaust

Hmm stock, admittedly I didn't see that one coming. Basically, it comes down to what you can afford to do now, anything to help the engine breath better is a plus (well minus a hole in the exhaust pipe).

Yo i just order my new exhaust system so ya i will have my complete from down pipe to cat to back piping...

so took my car to montana muffler and brakes, basically got all new piping from cat to muffler minus the cat muffler and silencer (just straight pipe) looks like whoever welded it before must of been drunk because the only thing holding the exhaust together was the fact that the piping over lapped. cost me 45 for materials basically but sounds and runs better now.

when some extra cash comes around ill upgrade the whole system but for now this is fine. also found out that the gst wont work on gsx for exhaust.

heres some pics, car wont look like this for long hopefully though.
