Soo... ive noticed this for awhile now and was just wondering if its normal.. and if so why?

when using cruise control on perfectly flat roads.. my car will kinda surge.. speed stays the same but it will ever so slightly slow down and speed up. so i decided to run a dsmlink log to look at it.. and you can very clearly see a wave pattern.

any thoughts?

It is really hard to see your speed line. at least quiet all other line plots. (ctrl + q) and then select speed. that would help, or post the raw log file, .elg.

When I use CC, the car felt a bit jumpy to me compared to all the newer cars I have driven with CC (02 f150, 96 sl2, 97 camry, 99 E150... mostly late 90s cars)

I set my speed, and it will engage the throttle around where it should be then it will eventually be too slow, and then it will punch it, and built a few lbs of boost (around 8 psi iirc). Its rather exaggerated. Again, it may just be that it is a turbocharged, manual car. all the others I have driven were automatic, except one, and none of the forced induction.

It might be also that the 14b spools really fast so its easy for CC to put it into boost. I dont think I have done much 20g CC, but still at the speeds I might want to cruise at, 3.5k rpm would put me in a moderate boost building range.

the speed line is the red one right above the oscillating lines below. its right above the peaks of the lower lines.. you can see it compared with the purple one.. it does increase and decrease ever so slightly.. but nothing like throttle position and such.
