Vehicle weight, type of clutch and tires, driving style, torque, etc will all affect how much abuse a 3 bolt will take. The shock of a 5spd launch is usually what kills them, many autos have gone 11s on them. I've never heard of one breaking on a dyno.

I've done at least a hundred 1.7 second sixty foots in my 2950lb Colt with a three bolt. Even a few 1.69 60's. All on street tires, all with a 5 speed. It's lasted through three 6 puck clutches, and is now working on an unsprung twin disk. I did have a four bolt for about a month, but one fierce dounut took care of that, and the three bolt went right back in.

Ps. I also use NLTS which also slams it pretty hard on the upshifts.

Is there a fingers crossed smiley?
