This test is with the 4 year old ETS core which is not what the Current core is. Love how ETS is always making there stuff better. So now a perfect compersion of what there new street VS race is but it really does give us an idea of how important a good FMIC is.

So in my quest for the 1g data testing since the DSM combos are so all over vs the EVO.

This is a car that had been sitting for 4 years that was brought in to be brought back to life.

Mods that matter are
-Unknown motor with .020 Wisco pistons stock rods (bad idea I think)
-HKS 264 Cams
-Stock Intake mani
-FP 3065
-V3 SD 1450s nice 4in intake
-Single 255hp
-press bent 3in exhaust.
-92 oct tuned with no knock on these pulls but each at the limit on the tune.

We did the 3065,V3 clutch and other small stuff to bring the car back to life. Up on the 1st trip to the dyno it was only doing 330whp and wanting to knock like hell (suck). At that time I felt it was either the Cams or IC that was holding it back. Got the ok to dig deeper and do cams and IC. Up on digging we found the 3in high flow cat to be broken and plugged up. Let the owner know that was the real problem but he wanted the new mods and I wanted to see the data.

We are now going to be doing a set of the new GSC S2 cams for the DSM. They should be going in tomorrow and results tomorrow night unless something pops up and being a DSM as we all know something may.

Just bolting the Race FMIC on with no changes to the boost control gave almost 3psi and it was almost knock free. Was even able to add back in 2 deg in the 5-6k area. I fought like hell to even get good knock free pulls on 21psi on the street core.

Dyno sheets corrected and uncorrected to keep people happy. Engine bay pic of the car and a nice year spread of some mitus in the parking lot today.

Very nice Lucas! If I'm reading this right, you picked up 44whp with the core change alone. Car started at 330whp on the old core, you picked up 30whp in tuning with that core and got it to ~360whp, then changed the core which allowed your 3psi + 2* of timing to net an extra 44whp.

No not quite right. The 330whp was with the plugged cat then it did 375whp, then with the core change and tuning it topped out at 414whp.

Do you know what kind of core was on the car first? Modine,Griffin,Garrett,Et cetera... ? What size was it Vs the one that when back on?Do you know what kind core is on the car now? Also Was is Tube&Fin or Bar&Plate? I'm not sure what ETS are using these days... .

The ETS Street core is 25x7.5x3in so it fits under the stock front bumper support. There race is 25x10.5x3. The older core is Tube&Fin and not sure on brand. The new core is cust built just for them. He had 10 different cores we tested last year on a 700hp evo and this new race core did the best. Even beat the Garrett in power and IAT.

They are not doing a full release on the new core till he has enough in stock to handle the orders. With what we have seen in the testing from the EVO there is no core on the market the flows and cools the air as well as this new core does.

Sorry I do not have IAT data. Most of my cars dont run IAT sensors.

Missed that you said it was a street vs race core... Either way nice bit of info... 40whp for about $150 more Nice!:thumb:
I'm guessing it was Modine core since that's what their old T&f cores where IIRC and that's what I have... .To bad you don't know IAT whould have been interesting to see how much cooler the temps were...

It is and we dont run intake temp sensor. Other then Data they cause more problems then good.

If I had control of the timing and fuel comp vs intake temp like in a AEM I would run them.

My EVO one V3 SD had ran from the low 20s to 100deg day and the AF is with in .5
