Got a new dsm last year for $500.(Aug. 2012) Im reposting this thread because my laptop was down and I haven't posted on it in quite a while so sorry for anyone who was following. Im planning on rebuilding it because the valve seals are leaking and its making it run rough. I also just want a fun toy to play around with. But i wanna do turbo build(16g or 20g) around 300-500 hp nothing to much and def some new rims and prob gonna stick with stock bumper and side skirts but i havent decided yet. had to find a trailer to get it home because the tires were dryrotted like crazy, i ended up renting a U-Haul car trailer for $55 which is amazing but on the way home the headliner tore off the car,but i started scrubbing the engine bay and cleaning it up. My intake hose was pretty dry rotted also so i went down to the junk yard and i had suprisingly good luck and there was a 94 eclipse gs 5sp 1.8L and i found the intake hose hidden in the spare tire holder
, then i just started striping parts out of the car like the MAF sensor, interior trim panels, a/c knobs, misc parts, and brake caliper brackets since all the bolts snapped off in mine and i couldnt even get them out with easy outs and i ended up breaking easyouts(bad day
), and other misc stuff but come to find out later this eclipse at the junkyard was my friends car and the he was laughing because he said he would of just gave me the car if he would have known that i had a dsm so yea thats just karma i guess.

first things first i started with the brakes since it really didnt have any, i put bosch rotors, new calipers, caliper hoses, pads and caliper brackets all the way around it. It was over $800 in brakes(sorry didnt think about taking any pictures when i was doing the brakes) After I did brakes I did a tune up on the car, new spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, oil filter, gaskets, and fuel filter. I had to install new manifold studs because most of them broke off in the head.
