Well,I've seen a lot of great builds on here and they really inspired me to push myself. So here I am,looking to share what I can with all my fellow DSMers.

I have a 99 GST that I purchased off my uncle when his motor died. He sold me the car and some parts for 1500. He knew I always wanted this car and this car ONLY. No other DSM. HIS. So he did me the favor and handed it down to me for a great price. Especially considering the condition it was in. He was the only owner and took great care of it. Kept it clean and maintained by the dealership. Never drove it hard or pushed it. Kept it stock. Still smells new from the inside.

I have the bumper and fenders off at this point. Due to working on the car with these parts on,I'll most likely be buying a new bumper and match the paint. It's still in good condition but I rather pay for a new bumper with paint job than to pay the same amount on just some touch up paint job. I've been working on the fuse box relocation tuck and have gotten most wires into the interior. I really don't like the fuse box in the glove box look,so I'll probably be mounting it somewhere else. maybe under the steering wheel or in the passenger area somehow. The only issue I have right now is the fact that I have to extend just a few wires and I'm not to confident with the fact that I can choose the right gauge and quality wire. That's really my only hold up.

Other than my fuse tuck, I might be hitting up the junkyard sometime soon to get an extra engine harness to work on doing another tuck. Besides that I'm really looking to keep everything like a/c and power steering. Pretty much keeping this car stock and only upgrading to a bigger turbo that will give me room to grow with in the future. Won't be doing anything with the turbo right now other than just keeping the stock power and when I have the money to buy internals, push it how I want. Here are the pics I've got

Cool man, looking forward to the updates. What turbo you plan on running? T28 would be a nice little upgrade. Still looks stock but will give you the little boost in power that you are looking for, without needing other mods. Super expensive though.

EDIT: NVM saw the other thread. So ehh, what turbo you going with?

I actually am not set on a turbo yet. It's hard to choose because I want something that will give me power in the future, but my main concern is just finding something that will work best with a stock set up. So I'm not sure yet.

I also forgot to mention that I'm a complete noob. Turbos and DSMs are new to me as I've only messed with hondas. I can say though that after this car, I know no other thing can compare to a DSM. I'm always looking for new ideas and suggestions. But as of now, getting this tuck is my main goal of the week. I have no idea how to understand wire gauge!LOL:ohdamn:

Haha enjoy the experience! My 98 gs-t was basically my first car. I sold my first two cars and bought that one. I was the second owner just did some bolt-ons. Good luck with the wiring, sure you can find a bunch of info on here.

Thanks. I've had it sitting for 2 years. Slowly piecing everything together either oem or upgraded aftermarket. All the way down to every single bolt holding things like the water pump, oil pump, pulleys. Things others usually look over because they don't matter much. I figure,I can either fix it and down the road pull the engine again because I got anxious and rushed. Or I can just build a practically "new" car for a not so new price.LOL:D

Alright. So I don't have pictures to update so I'm using linked pics. So far I haven't done much more. I got rid of the cruise control and the clutch line. I've ordered a fuelab mini p/r,a Fuelab 3" in line filter, nylon filter to rail hose kit from STM (by the way, these guys suck. That's a whole nother thread completely. I don't recommend going to them), an extreme psi SS clutch line (long),ACL race bearings and I forgot what else. I'm going to buy a small Mishimoto FMIC and I'm relocating the brake proportioning valve to where the SMIC used to mount. So what I'm going to do is a brake line tuck where I mount the proportioning valve there and run the right hand side brake lines behind the bumper cover and under the fender, For the Left, they will just connect under the fender to the front and then run straight back. My other plan is also to run ss teflon power steering lines and remove the hard lines for a minor tuck.
Only question I have is,does anyone know if you can do the same with the A/C? Maybe someone has done it before?

So I received my ss braided clutch line from extreme PSI. It's extremely long, which people have complained about,so i wanted to mock it up and see how I was going to route it. I don't want to be running loose line all over the bay and risking safety. I ended up mocking it up real easy. Yea,it's long and a hassle to bolt down because you can't twist and turn this line, but the look and functionality I think is worth it. I'm going to have it run along the top of the engine bay,I used an old tubing clip,or bracket,or whatever it's called to hold it nice and firm with the bolt right next to where the cruise control cable used to be. From there I ran it over the throttle to another clip right beside where the negative battery termianl grounds to the car. Of course,it's securely away from the terminal cable. There I turn it torwards the fender, where I will be holding it with more brackets along the strut tower and well as where the fuse box used to be and then to the trans.

If anyone has Ideas on a neater way to route this, let me know!

Ok,so I had stated before that I was going to do a hardline brake line tuck. I went down to my local atuozone and bought 25 feet of hard line (which by the way, this quality aftermarket brake line is great! They have a great product here) for $20. After trying and trying to bend the line exactly how I wanted it and it bending nearly how I wanted it,I gave up. I decided to instead give it a go at Jegs SS PTFE brake hose. I bought 20ft of hose with a few other items for around 70 shipped. When I got the package they even threw in a free hat and some decals. AWESOME! So I got my stuff today and i was a little nervous about doing this because I've never worked with SS line,as far as putting it together. Amazingly,it's easy! only trouble there is really is cutting the line without a wheel cutter and getting those damn little olives on! Once you do though,it's a sinch! I managed to get one line on today. I got the master to proportioning valve line on and it looks sweet!
