New project this year is to convert my 5 speed 1997 Talon AWD to an Auto, and go after that 8 second mark while keeping the car streetable. The car has gone 9.6@159Mph with the 5 speed, at 3250lbs. And when it comes to auto's the natural choice is the crew at English Racing, thanks to Lucas, Jeff, Arron, and Myles. I hope I can tuck into the draft behind you guys :) I will still be running a full sequential Spark Tech ignition system, but pretty much everything else on the car is going to be changed, and I mean everything! Going to be running Comp triple as usual on the car as it has all been an outstanding performer both in power and spool but also in durability. More to come

Whats left of my old 300M upgraded 5 speed transfer case :(

And the new auto transfer case after machining for the larger 300M output shaft and re- setting clearances.

So besides an all new engine, trans setup, I'm also redoing the whole chassis. Out with the 8.5 NHRA certified cage and in with the new 25.4 certified chassis. This is going to be alot of fabrication cause I'm going to do it in the car using what I can from the exsisting cage.

This should be a fun build to watch and I wish you luck.:thumb: The car looks great! Looks and sounds like a pissed off bumble bee.LOL Thanks for sharing the build with us.:)

I wondered how long it'd take you to post on here... LOL

300m transfer case?
I'm interested...

What are you asking?

New Kiggly HLA to help limit the amount of oil getting pushed up to the head a common problem with these motors if turned at very high RPM.

Well I never mentioned street racing, and I'm not sure by your post what your asking exactly?

Pay close attention to the title of this thread....;) "Street driven 8 second" are your key words. On the street you'll never know what time your car runs, so his goal of 8 seconds tells me he plans on racing at a track. He also says street driven, not street racer. We don't condone any street racing here bro.:nono:

Were you in fourth or fifth going through the traps? You had so much spin in first and second it was hard to count the gears OMG

4th on the PpG gear set with 26" tire it's about 8000Rpm.

Found another grey silver headliner for a non sunroof and am switching it out for my sunroof headliner in my car. I dyed the headliner black should look alot better then the old one.

Probably what is needed to upgrade the transfer case. I too am interested...

I'll be keeping an eye on this. It looks really interesting. :thumb:

Its a big job you need the shaft then have to take the case apart and remachine and the case for the larger bering and shaft then reassemble.
