i blew my tranny last nite racing my friends bmw 325 Is. I smoked him the 1st race and the 2nd race my tranny blew up on me as soon as i started to pull. Also the cooling lines that run from the radiator to the tranny cracked in half. A section of the bell housing also managed to blow off. the bell housing is so screwed you can even see the flywheel. im guessing my tranny overheated since coolant was involved, but im really unsure. Does anyone know about how much it would cost to rebuild or replace with a used one? also, the coolant from the lines splashed all over the engine bay when the lines exploded. But the question i really want to know is if i blew my tranny why was coolant all over the place? this is my 1st blown tranny, is coolant everywhere a normal indication of a blown tranny? oh and i own a 2g non turbo.:dsm:

Sounds like you destroyed a flywheel. Have fun repairing all the damage.

You have coolant leaks because something fragmented, and sent metal shards everywhere.
