tranny advise

alright i blew up 2nd gear and the synchro pack for my tranny my question is most tranny shops want between 1,500 and 2,000 to fix it is there a place that ican just buy the parts for it for a decent price or am i just out of luck?????

You can buy the parts at TRE (www.teamrip.com ) - they can also do the labor.. $500 labor for a complete rebuild plus parts costs if i remember right. You can also talk to John Shepherd at http://www.shepracing.com/ .

I bought the TRE synchros.. $180

I bought a 2nd gear from the dealership $100

I paid a friend to do the press work $40



thats all i needed done and it didnt run me much at all...

the thing with these trannys.. is alot of times people go overboard and replace EVERYTHING, which isnt always necessary.. bearings and stuff like that.. check em out, if they aint bad.. leave them in..


of course if your gear cut loose and fragged a buch of stuff that will be a whole nother bucket of devils.
