lsd or tranny? help!

ok. only the learned techs should prolly reply, cause i dont wanna be set into panic for no reason. so i got my dsm finally today and was unloading it from the trailor to find out its rwd. i guess the problem with the tranny wasnt what i thought. it is perfectly mobile (to an extent) the casing has a 1.5 inch hole in the trans. symptoms include a little bit of slippage in the gears. shifts smooth however. and doesnt like to go past 4000 rpms and it loses grip. obviously theres no fluid in it either so its running dry. also, like i said its rwd. this is why im worried. im hoping its not the front lsd, or somthing of that nature. hoping its just the tranny like i think it is. and the gears that move the half shafts are just shot and unwilling to move anymore. i guess the previous owner said that sometimes they will kick in for a moment then give up again.

so my question is basicly, what do you think about the tranny? its not the lsd failing is it? i mean the tranny is DEAD. so im hoping thats the limits to it.

also, what damage could be caused by driving the car in the future. of course i know the tranny could lock up on me. thats a given. but it couldnt mess up the transfer case or lsd's or other parts etc could it? if tranny goes, np. anything else and im worried. i dont plan on driving it really. but to load it on and off of its respective dsm trailor to transport it.

those are my urgent urgencies at the moment. any help is greatly appreciated, but if your not sure about it be careful about replying, i gotta be somewhat sure what im facing. guessing might be dangerous for me
