Well I bought a FWD 5spd Galant transmission off of eBay for $200shipped and the guy said he bought it from a Mitsu mechanic who doesnt remember what was wrong(if anything) with it. But he said the synchros may need to be replaced. If I took the end case off and main casing should I be able to tell what kind of shape the synchros and gears are in? Well obviously I will be able to tell if the synchros are totally bad if the gears are all grinded, but Idk.

What should I do? I am not going to take it to a shop as the shops around here most likely will not rebuild it or even look at it for me(small hick towns, go figure)

Any help is appreciated...

Here is a pic of it btw(looks clean :p)

Wow that looks nice. Honestly though I would just make sure it runs through the gears then throw it on if it feels okay. It will be hard to check synchros without taking EVERYTHING apart. Even if you do take off part of the case, all you really will be able to look at is a few gears. If that is the case though then go for it! Run some good fluid in it (ex. Synchromesh, BG, etc) and give it a try! Good luck.

Thanks, I am going to use BG and a Mitsu throwout bearing and what not. It felt like it ran through the gears with no problems, so I guess all I can do is cross my fingers :p
