when I did my auto to manual conversion I used a 92 talon tranny and flywheel on my 90 eclipse. The problem is that there is no dowl pin location on my flywheel but there is one on the back of my crankshaft where the flywheel bolts up. He said this is the reason why 5 out of 6 flywheel bolts broke off in my crankshaft. Whats the deal? The talon 4g63 did not have a dowl location. I need some input guys, any info would be appreciated. thanks.

My 91 gsx has a Dowel pin location, and it should be the same as any 90. Its 6 bolt for sure correct? Can u describe what happened to me. I recently had a probem that may be the same as yours. If u want to e-mail me and talk to me on there or Aim- Willjs7 that would be fine.

Any 4g63 should have a dowel pin location for the most of my knowlege. Are you sure its not the N/A Crank. LOL

Yup the flywheel that I have is a 6 bolt flywheel. What happened to me is one day when I was driving I got on her real good and than I heard a thumping sound and felt a real heavy vibration, At first I thought I finally killed my motor on a trip past 7k rpm but when the starter was removed ( I had problems with her the day before) we found out apperently the starter got chewed up by the ring gear bigtime:barf: , well I dropped the tranny and found out the flywheel was only held in by 1 bolt out of 6. I thought the other 5 had backed out but after I got my new bolts in and went to start on putting her back together thats when I found out that they had broken off in my crankshaft. Needless to say I was pissed. My expert buddy that works for a tranny shop drilled them out for me and thats when he checked on my installation when he noticed there was no location dowel on my flywheel but there was one on my crank. He said the torque from the motor killed my bolts and so I purchased a flywheel for a 90' talon ( instead of eclipse because our local dealership can't function with out VIN #s) So I went to a plymouth dealer for no hassle or stupid wanna be mechanics with no imagination on modifications. I should be getting my new flywheel in on friday and by night time she should be done........I hope:confused: HOLLA BACK:dsm:
