I am going to be buying a 95 gsx with 109k miles. It has a relatively new stock clutch which slips pretty badly under full throttle after a few minutes of driving. Im trying to decide if I should buy the car and what clutch to get if I do. My main concerns are that the clutch lasts a long time and doesnt significantly increase the chances of getting crankwalk. I dont care about smooth engagement.

Here's what i know about the car:
FMIC w/all piping and greddy type-s bov
injen intake
thermal catback
stock turbo at 15psi
not sure about fuel system or downpipe/cat
I intend to increase the boost a little and run mid 13's

How often does crankwalk really occur and which clutch should i get?
Are there any other concerns I should have related to the slipping clutch before I buy this car? Should I get a flywheel also and which one?

as for how often its hit+ miss plent of info on that on tunners and the web.
getting a real clutch can/will increase your odds in developing it.
if you want to play safe -- demod the car, drive it normaly stick with stock clutch. if you want to race.. get act 2100/2600 and dont worry about it if/when the motor goes. ( its not THAT big of a deal )

I agree with dave99gst. I have a 95 GSX and I have had the ACT 2600 on it for almost 3 years now with the same 7 bolt motor and its fine. I wish that it would walk so I can swap in my backup 6 bolt. But I will keep at this 7 bolt and see if it really will walk. There are more people out there in the same situation as me with no signs of crankwalk. One thing you should NOT DO is get caught up with all the DRAMA QUEENS that scream "CRANKWALK!" Half the people that talk about it never really experienced crankwalk firsthand. They just repeat what they read and talk as if its an epidemic. You got a DSM for a reason. No sense in having mods on the car and not be able to lay it down on the pavement. If crankwalk develops, just get a 6 bolt and call it a day. Remeber there are probably more people out there with an ACT 2600 on a 7 bolt w/ no signs of crankwalk than there is people with it. I gave up living in fear of crankwalk over a year now and learned to enjoy the beauty of my DSM again.

When I was living in fear I went and got a backup 6 bolt built up thinking crankwalk was inevitable. Now I have a backup with money that could have been used for other things. By the way this is a prime example of what listening to the DRAMA QUEENS will do to you. Made me so paranoid about it.

yes crankwalk is over rated. I personally know of 1 gsx that got it and I know tons of people with dsms. Don't worry about it ... if it happens it happens, but don't be so sure that it will.

So.....clutch suggestions? I'm thinking I should go with the ACT 2100lb and street disc. This is my daily driver and I will very rarely take the car to the track. I was looking at the feramic also but there seems to be a back order. Anyone agree/disagree with my choice?

ACT 2600. The pedal pressure thing is blown way out of proportion. It may get annoying sometimes, but just man up and get it. I run the same clutch on the same car as you and I never had regrets. This is my daily ride too. I have not even begun to realize the true potential of the clutch yet, but I have the piece of mind that it will take whatever I throw at it. When I first got my car, I was thinking the same as you, but after I whooped up on a mustang 5.0 that said "Simply Imports Simply Suck" on its back windshield I got bit by the speed bug even more. Actually it was not a whoopin, but it I won nonetheless. Funny story to it, but I won't get into that story unless people here want to hear about it. Anyways, when it came time for me to do my clutch, I did research on the forums and came to the ACT 2600 as my choice. If you search through the forums, you will get the general consensous that most with AWD's get the ACT 2600 and FWD's use the ACT 2100. The price difference between those two clutches are not that big, but it will be if you decide to mod the car and you outgrow the ACT 2100, then the price difference of the two clutches will be HUGE. ACT 2600 is proven and it gets the job done for most of our AWD needs. It will work on almost all levels. No one is immune to the speed bug when it comes to DSM's.

2600, or the new feramic clutch everyone is raving about.
