I just recieved my BM Tranny LSD insert today and had a question on the spring color. I order the BM Tranny LSD insert from Slowboy racing and let me tell you guys, they have superior customer services and fast shipping. Anyways, on the vfaq.com install instructions for this LSD, I noticed that the springs were red. The springs on mine are green and I was wondering is there a difference or not? If anyone else who has this specific LSD insert remember what color their springs are, please post. Thanks. Below is the picture of my LSD insert, notice the green spings....

BM recently switched to a stronger spring in their LSD, the older ones were red, newer is green, same as in my tranny. Did u get the lsd in yet? Makes a world of diference for us wrong wheel drivers. Even above 400whp they still hold together and do the trick.

Not sure about the exact springs rate changes, but I know it was incresaed to hold up under higher horsepower applications.

i bought one like a month ago but i dont remember what color the springs were. i want to say red. When did they switch over? Is there a function difference between the two or just power handling limit? you will love it though.. i used to spin third gear in the rain but now second gear doesnt even spin in the rain. Also my car would be useless in the snow but with the tires and the lsd its become an oversteering monster. :D

Where did you get your BM Tranny LSD from if you don't mind me asking?

i drove to turbotrix and picked mine up myself.

defiant.. bm tranny and turbotrix merged.

I just recived my lsd insert from turbotrix/bmtranny and it looks like it was grinded with an angle grinder and there hairline cracks in the metal! Is this ok as long as the inside is perfect? I plan to put atleast 350whp down I don't want it blownin up inside my trans. Is it supposed to be like that? I'm calling tommorow.

My diff broke a tooth off and shoved it through my case most likely because of the insert. I'm putting down only about 225whp.

Back from the dead....

How do you know it was the insert that caused it?

Nate

I beat the hell out of the car before the insert for a whole summer... with the insert the trans managed a whole 2 months.

Thats because it did its job.

More Traction=More Strain on the drivetrain that can= broken shit

I would of rather spent the money on a closed lsd before I bought this chunk of steel so I wouldn't have to do this install twice.

The insert puts more stress on the spider gears and case; End of discussion. Closed diff is better. The insert works fine with less reliability. :beatentodeath:

Oh yeah my whole open diff and B & M Insert is for sale if anyone wants it.
