Whats up guys, I've heard so many things about FWD smoking only one tire on burnouts and launching. My 95 GS-T spins both tires and I haven't installed no LSD. When I first bought my GS-T back in April, I tested it out if it had a posi FWD (both tires pulling the car). Sure enough it did...I tired it on wet and dry ground and two skid marks were left behind. From there I just figured that all GS-T's have a factory LSD or something. But from what I've read in the forums, everyone claims that they smoke one that one tire. I've also heard that if your GS-T or Tsi FWD has no ABS then it has a kinda LSD...if you do have ABS then you don't have the factory LSD. I have no ABS and I'm 110% sure that I smoke both tires and that both pull the car.

Finally, I just want to know if there are any other GS-T guys out there that have this "factory LSD" thing with no ABS. It just bothers me cause I know I have some kind of LSD but I bought the car bone stock from the dealer...I'm guessing it has to be a factory LSD but I've heard that the factory never had LSD on the GS-T.

So if you GS-T "factory LSD" guys are out there please help me prove that something is either right or wrong. Thanks.:thumb:

I smoke both tires, didnt know it was LSD though, cause I did this in my Accord too...Maybe when you launch the wheels just cant handle the traction issues? Anyway I have an rs-t and i get slip in both, dunno if it helps ya

I just found out from another GS-T owner that Mitsubishi does have a factory posi FWD or LSD thing, but that its not as good as a Quafie or any other LSD.

Even though you guys spin both wheels as do I...you think its a good idea to upgrade to an aftermarket LSD?

I can't really tell, my car is to busy hitting boost and trying to ram me into trees. Haha Boosting out of a corner is not fun, the car just wants to go straight

NO dsm came w/ a factory lsd.

No FWD car has an lsd from the factory, some awd cars came w/ a rear viscous type lsd thats the only factory lsd for dsm's. To really see if you have a lsd pull the ebrake have someone watch each side of the car and do a big burnout, if they spin equally then you have lsd. Also another way to tell is if you have a lsd instert type (phantom grip, bm tranny) or a kaaz lsd raise the two front tires off the ground and spin w/ your hand on tire, the other one should spin in the same direction. The only way to tell if you have a quaife is if you really do get posi traction and if you open the tranny and see for youself. Also if you have a kaaz it will make clunking noises when you turn.

That's the characterization of an open diff...sometimes they'll both spin, but go around a corner and you'll know for sure. Even my Tacoma would spin both rears occasionally, but it had an open diff. If the drive wheel encounters any loss in resistance, THEN she'll spin...its simple physics really.

In short, get an LSD :D
