What do you guys do about the shifter cable bushings inside the car at the shifter itself? At least one of mine is really loose...

I replaced mine with the Symborski Metal Set from Mach V.

They make a bit of noise switching gears, but it eliminates alot of slop coming from the factory rubber bushings. Prothane or Energy Suspension makes a set of shifter bushings as well. They're relatively cheap ($35 for the Symborski, dunno how much the urethane ones are) and it's an easy mod to do. That, or just get rid of the rubber bushings and just bolt your shifter plate to the floor. I heard that works, but I wouldn't do it...

I'm talking about the bushings that are in the cable ends- not the ones that secure the plate to the floor of the car. Will rollerblade wheel bearings work here like in the bushings at the other end of the cables?

Never tried it... I don't believe the hype, though. I wouldn't spend more than $10 on that mod.

alright the shifter bushing inside the car between the floor and the plate are rubber so can i just reaplce them w/ some new medal bushings or do they have to be specialy made?

On the cable ends! Not the stupid plate mounting bushings!

If it works on the other end I dont see why it cant work inside the car aswell. Maybe the ones inside are smaller? I plan to buy some rollerblade bearings tomorrow to do the under the hood ones. If I have to buy them in a set of 4 I will try the ones inside the car and let you know how it goes....But I have to say my shifting is crap as of now, I grind gears all the time, i think my clutch has a little something to do with it.

I'll keep you posted

I replaced the one on the end with brass ones, and the ones inside with energy supespension poly bushings.

The poly bushings were 10 dollars from summit, and the other ones were 20 from this forum.

It is easier to shift fast because the energy is more direct.
