How do i know if my clutch is modular...plz help

I have the same question about my 1997 GS Eclipse and is there any way to tell without pulling the trany first?

I have a 96 NT and from what I have ressearched/and been told all of them are modular. 97 I'm not sure about.

A modular clutch is rivited (un removable) to the pressure plate, a non modular is bolted (removable).

You can't rebuild a modular clutch, the others you can. Or atleast that's what the places I've called about rebuiding mine told me. I just bought one off ebay. $135 shipped. go to www.buyclutch.com and it will take you to their ebay auctions.

HAve you installed that sach's clutch yet? Is it anygood? I am needing a clutch bad. The lowest price I have found is like $300 for a spec stage II. It comes with the flywheel also.

Yea it's installed. It is a OEM clutch, so it shifts just like the stock one. I haven't had any problems out of the clutch..just my transmission is messed up..so I still can't drive it.

But for $135...you can't beat it. And it has a warranty on it, so if it has problems you can get it replaced.

How long is the warrn. for? I have a busted pressure plate and need a clutch bad. Not to worried if it is the same as oem as this car has seen it's last race for awhile. I just aquired a 00' Civic Si to take over the race dept for awhile. Also still have my little 85" laser 2.2 turbo to kick ass with from now and then also so the clipse is getting retired from the racing seen since it has only 30k miles on it want to keep it in great shape. If I'm not mistaken, all NTs have modulated clutch kits.

I know my clutch is modular. Just got it out today. Now what I mean by coming with the flywheel. Does this clutch talked about here come with the part that has the ring gear on it? the part bolted to the crank?

So yes, it comes with everything you need. You don't have to have any extra parts for the install. Unless you break/loose something on your own.

I do not mean to jack your thread or anything but I do have a question, I am replacing my clutch and just got it out today but I did not realize it's a modular clutch and I already bought a ACT 2100 clutch, so is there anyway I can use this? Can't I just put a normal flywheel on???

THe ring gear part is what the modular clutch bolts to. And the starter engages which in turn is called a flywheel on most cars. does this come with the clutch?

Unless you have lost or broken that part you do not need a new one. The clutch kit comes with everything you need to swap out your old one for your new one. No it does not come with that piece. It comes with the items pictures from the ebay auction. Nothing more nothing less.
