there's a leak somewhere in my transmmission and I couldn't find it, I think my transmission is messed up. when I start my car the transmission sound a little bit noisy, but when i press the clutch the noise is gone. what seems to be the problem here? the mechanic said that i need to replace the "bearing" ( i don't know what that is), and that bearing comes with the clutch. please help me I'm not a DSM expert.

is it easy to remove the trans for 1990 GSX?

I am assuming you have a manual transmission as automatics don't have throw out bearings.

A throw out bearing is what he is talking about. Its the bearing that disconnects the clutch disk face from the fly wheel by applying pressure to the 'pressure plate'. The clutch fork presses this throwout bearing into the pressure plate and voila, you have a free spinning engine and you are able to shift.

i dont know if your car does this too but my second gear grinds when my car is just warming up and sometimes the first two or three runs at the track? if anybody knows what this is please help me. it is really starting to agitate me. plus i was wondering if there are any short shifters out there for a 92 talon es.

Sounds like a worn synchro and shitty fluid. When was the last time you replaced the tranny fluid? 2nd gears on 1G's are notoriously bad.

My car had the 2nd gears grinds. I had the tranny rebuilt. It was the BEST mod and $1000 I have spend on my car. I had the tranny updated to the double synco and had steel shift forks installed at the same time.
