probly a syncro or a bent shifter fork.... does is grind when u put it in at a complete stop? if so i would lean towards shifter fork, and it only does it when u are rolling i would say a syncro. if the other gears are still a little stiff to engage maybe it is your clutch isn't getting all the way engaged
tell me more

all other gears are fine it grinds while the car is accelerating.
doesnt gring on complete stop..
how could this have happend.
and if it is not changed for a whil what could happen..(low on $$$)

well i would drain the trans and if it is metalic grey or has little metal flakes, i would say just flush it every 10k miles till u fix it, if you get large chunks of gears than i would fill it back up and duct tape a VERY powerful magnet by the drain plug and drive it for a good day(nicely) pull off the magnet and when u drain it put the magnet under the flow of fluid and see how much metal u got, it is minor i would drive it if u can't fix it, and if it is a large amount put the car away

bright shiny flakes, like the kind used in metallic paint is aluminum= tranny case/housing.

dull grey dusty looking flakes are from steel/gears/ bearings.

how much would the repair cost,
and will it effect my shifting after a while?

yes it will slowly get worse thats why i said change fluid regularly, that will help it from getting as bad as fast

can u pull the trans urself?

if so it should be about 200 bones, unless you can do the work on the internals of the trans yourself then i would say like 70 bucks

the 200 might be a little low, the guy i would have do my tranny work is really cheap(but i don't take anything to him because i am free)

cool..
thanx:thumb:
im gonna have to take it 2 some1.
i am a dumb ass when it comes to a tranny, dont know much abour 'em.

looks like ill take it in a few days
