Do we have a pilot bearing?

I got my tranny out yesterday and to my surprise there was no pilot bearing on the end of the input shaft. Do we not have one? Is mine stuck on the crankshaft?

It presses into the crank. To remove it, if you don't have a stupid little puller built for it, put a big gob of grease in the center of it, then find a ¼"-drive socket that's closest to the same size as the input shaft nose (but not bigger). Put that socket _backward_ onto a ¼" extension, and drive it into the grease. It'll drive the bearing out pretty-as-you-please without hurting a thing. Wipe out the grease, and gently drive in the new one.

What are you guys talking about? I'm assuming you guys have ATs? Otherwise there's surely no pilot bearing.

I definately have a manual transmission. So, you say there is no pilot bearing? Defiant, were you refering to an auto tranny?

There is no pilot bearing in the manual tranny cars.

There is no bearing in the A/T either, it's a bushing.
