Clutch pedal stuck, wierd!!!

I have a 97 GST, and just had a new clutch installed about 7 months ago. Yesterday i noticed the pedal felt light and mushy, and I was having trouble getting into gears while shifting. Then I shut off the car, had the clutch to the floor, and started it, then the car started moving with the clutch down! What does this mean? Today I started it and the pedal just drops to the floor and I can't get into a gear because it grinds.
I don't think it is the actual clutch, but maybe something wrong with the master/slave cylinder/lines? How do I check this and how to I properlly re-bleed the fluid? Please help me out

Also, I checked the pedal rod, and it has black greesy fluid on it. Is this clutch fluid, or just lubricant? I looked in the engine bay and did not see any fluid spilled around the master cylinder. Sould I just bleed the lines? or is this need a cylinder rebuild, or more serious problems?

looked again, The master cylinder resevoir is almost totally empty. There is some sludgy chucky black stuff in the very bottom. I also saw the slave cylinder, and it was leaking black stuff on the frame. So I'm almost 100% sure this is is a hydralic problem, but I don't know if I just need to bleed, or rebuild. Also, is sludgy black goo a sign of a bigger problem?

Sounds to me like you need a new master cylinder or atleast rebuild it. You prolly had a seal blow.

Yup, blown master cylinder. The shop doing your clutch didn't flush the hydraulics? good god.

Probably true. I filled up the resevoir and it seems to work fine again. I've been checking for leaking. It does'nt seem to leak very much, I can't detect a big spill like the first time. Are you sure it is the master cylinder? It was the slave cylinder that all the fluid was leaking out of. But I don't know, maybe the master caused it to do that. Do you think I need both cylinders, and if so how much do they cost?

My mistake, I read you too fast. Yes, if the master's dry inside, it should be okay. I'd just go with a slave for now, and a stainless line from Road Race to get rid of that stupid tank on the transmission.
Check around, go with the cheapest slave you can find. Or, a rebuild kit is fine, there's nothing to them.

I've had the same problem with my car recently. Yes the Master Cyl was leaking and I replaced both that and the slave and the fluid. BLed the system and the car still does the same as you described starting the car in gear and it "started moving with the clutch down! " can't select gears with the car running, can when its off.

Its something to do with it not dissengaging. Bad PP, disk, fork, TOB./.. i'm replacing it all.

Bringin this one back from the Dead.. Did you guys figure your issues out?

Turned out my issue was a BROKEN Shift FORK, Snapped just below where the wire goes through it at its weakest point i'm sure.. It simply wouldn't actuate the PP.
