Driveshaft Thump...vfaq fix didn't work.

I hear what I'm pretty sure is the driveshaft rattle against my floor periodically, particularly when I get off the throttle. Most of the noise is right under the shifter and sometimes it's more in the rear. I lowered the carrier bearings, filled them with silicone, let them sit (with ds supported) for 24hrs, reassembled, and it sat for another 4hrs before I drove. It does seem better, but definitely still there. I'm assuming I need new carrier bearings, but just wanted to get any input I can first.

I have a rattling noise also but i found that mine was my muffler. mine only does it when i cruise at one speed if i speed up it goes away or slow down it goes away you might want to check that. The way i did was i just grabed my muffler moved it and i could hear it rattle also if the car was idling if i go to the back to fhe car i could hear the muffler making a soft rattling noise

I've noticed that it seems related to motor movement. It's done it on start-up and when I get a little jerky with the throttle I can feel the shifter move with the trans. I had a broken upper drivers side mount that I replaced with the prothane. The others looked ok, but maybe they're just weak.

Your transfer case could be on its way out...but you should definitely check those motor mounts first.
