Over the weekend me and a buddy (91tsiguy) installed a BM tranny LSD insert on my 98 spyder. I was having serious issues hooking up in 1st and figured this would help the situation a bit. The problem is now that the LSD insert is installed, I break loose top of first no problem, but also ALL of 2nd which I never had a single issue with before. Any ideas as to whats going on? I was assuming the LSD would add traction not take it away... :(

I don't like the sound of that, I'm getting the same insert for my GST. I hope you figure it out cause that is making me rethink getting one now.

Also, was the install difficult? It's not the dropping of the tranny that bothers me, it's cracking into the guts that gets me.

Good luck bro

You might have installed some part of second gear wrong, but that's unlikely. Does it shift differently? Are both axles fully seated in the tranny? Did you notice any other quirks?

I may have jumped the gun with my complaint, I havnt had any trouble since that first night. With that taken into consideration by buddy and I chalked it up to the new flywheel I also installed at the same time "breaking in" though we dont know for sure........ The install wasn't particularly hard although I was only a spectator while the tranny was disassembled/ assembled, the vfaq seems to be pretty accurate for this. :thumb:
