ACT2100 Pressure Plate - Paint scuffed up normal?

I have the clutch out of my car right now and the act2100 pressure plate looks fine except for the paint. What could cause the paint to chip off the pressure plate? It almost looks like it was scratched up. I am not going to worry about it if I get no replies, but is this normal?

Don't worry, it probably happened when the tranny was put back on the first time that clutch was put in. you'll see.

Those were gonna be my guesses, transmission installation scuffs and death-by-heat. So I guess I'll just have a beer instead.

You'd have _heard_ anything foreign in there scratching things up.
