Toronto,
Just installed my b&m short shifter.

All I can say is, Ooff! The throw's are amazingly short at 50%. Only one problem, I shift so fast from 2nd to 3rd, my leg isn't fast enough to slam the clutch down so once in awhile i get a light grind zzzttt noise.

:]

Guess I gotta relearn how to shift!

Anyways, onto my question. Does it feel like throws into 1/3/5 are 50% reduced, and 2/4/R are 25% reduced? I set everything up as per the instructions. I tried out my friends car at 35% reduction, it feels the same way, forward gears are drastically reduced, back gears have much less change.

thx

It may be that way from the factory, but I'd tend to think it's your imagination. I've not tried the 50%, I've stayed at 35%, and it seems like a _lot_, especially after taking the 1G out for a spin.

Ya, I stayed on the 35% expecially when I went from wot on third to second on the 50% OMG ya, that sucked...

I havent noticed anything in the shifting about your question, but now im curious and Im going to check with my car...brb

haha yah, first few days on the highway i had to take it REALLY easy. Sometimes I couldn't tell if i just shifted from 5th to 2nd or 5th to 4th haha. So i'd just sit there with the cluth pedal pressed trying to figure out if i really wanted to slip it out now. :p eventually i'd chicken out and go back to neutral, then find 4th again. :]

I've been running my BM rip shifter for a year now on this car, and have it at 50%, and I think it is still too much. One of the guy makes custom shifters with a 64% reduction, so I might be going with one of his. Anyhow the BM is great, add symborski kit, even better.

If you feel 50% is too much why would you go to an even higher reduction?? (64%)

leet got it right. Especially going from second to third, I could not hit it fast enough, I should have pulled a 13.1 vs. 13.2's.
