1988 precis-eclipse engine swap

I just got a 1988 Mitsubishi Precis and its carburated but the block is cracked. i wanted to know how difficult it would be to swap in a 4g63t engine.

Any engine swap is difficult at best. Not knowing the whole Mitsubishi product line (and all those manufacturers who used Mits engines) for the last fifteen years by heart, I don't know without some pictures what all you'll be up against. Going from carbureted to FI will add to the mix, but not with ingredients that'll improve the taste.

Start by popping the hood on your car and a DSM and compare the motor mount locations. If they don't come close, forget it. There's a chance the mounts might be the same, as Mitsu did a bit of platform sharing.

Yes it will fit.IF I can get one to bolt up into an 87 Mirage it should bolt right up into a precis.The original motor mounts for the carbed mirage are the same part numbers as the precis

That will be one hell of a custom job!! My dad has two of them laying around. Even the shifter linkage is weird on that thing. Good luck man, your going to need it.

Well i found an 4g63 no turbo, that i plan to make turbo anyone have some prefrences on which turbo and how to install them

you should seriously look around for a turbo motor. Unless you plan to rebuild it. IF you put in a non turbo then the whole swap won't be that rewarding. Try to find a turbo longblock. and you will prolly need a tranny driveshafts and ecu
