is it possible to do this yourself ? the car im buying has 160k miles on it... i dont know if the clutch was ever changed but its still good. im throwing an act 2600 on though. so any tips would be helpfull.

Flywheel resurfacing only cost about $45 at a machine shop. Just ask them how bad it looks and if you should get a new one.

if ur car has 160k on it i think it might be time for a new flywheel anyway, get a nice lightweight one and u will be much happier, chances are the clutch in the car has been replaced a few times before if it has that many miles, which means the flywheel has been resurfaced before, its probally getting pretty low and needs replacing

I would say check out the new act flywheels, suggested price is only 290. Which is about 100 dollars cheaper than everyone else.

I also say get the 13 pounder, because lightweight flywheels arent really that great for drag racing, just my opinion though.
