Im currently working on replacing my clutch. However when I was draining the transfer case oil I noticed a silvery mushy paste on the plug and even more inside the casing. Im pretty sure that shouldn't be there.

So what should I do. Is this the gears going bye bye, or is this normal after 98,000 miles.

thanks

i dont know if it means ur t case is going bad, but i saw the same stuff inside my friends tranny after he threw a gear and demolished it and we pulled it out
what i do know is those are shavings of ur gears and should not be inside there, i dont know how much longer its going to be good for but chances are something is going bad and will break sooner or later
