A/T slipping ,letting go on downshifts!

ok heres the deal ,

95 talon tsi awd a/t,

car shifts hard when shifting from reverse to drive drive to reverse etc , i could deal with that..but i was doing about 45 and when it tries to Down Shift from im guessing 3rd to 2nd instead of dropping and catching it drops 3rd and bounces off the rev limiter! scared the beejeesus outa me! then it will just continue to rev like its in nutral untill i actually shift into nutral and back into drive then it re catches!. i read some things aboutt he input and output turbine speed sensors...? any/all help apriciated. -Dale

well,what have you checked so far?how many miles on car and since last fluid/filter change?any codes pull up?does it only happen under heavy throttle?the 2nd band in known for getting out of adjustment.let me know.

well to be honest i kind of feel stupid now... havent changed the fluid or filter yet..got the car 6 days ago...when i checked the fluid it was a nice bright red...looked clean. yes it only happens under heavy throttle when it down shifts - thanks for replying

Just did filter and fluid...still acting up. Note: i have to drop tranny for new flexplate... anything i should cinsider while im under there? - Dale
