another diff questions this time about the rear.

I was wondering do the 4 bolt rear ends use the same gears as the 3 bolt rear ends? I think i might have a messed up 4 bolt rear but i have 2 3 bolt rears and was wondering if i could swap gears out of the 3 bolts to fix the 4 bolt rear end. Any info would be good.

any one know if this would work? It would be alot cheeper then buying another 4 bolt rear

I believe the ring and pinion and spider gears are the same from 4 bolt to 3 bolt, but the side gears are different to accept the larger diameter axles of the 4 bolt. I am not sure if the VC is interchangable. If you've got them laying around pop them open and copmare parts.
