Question Clutch safety switch? A/T

in the process of putting a MT in an AT 95 Eclipse GS. We're popping the engine and trans in today after weeks of ordering and waiting on parts. 1 thing I do not have is the clutch pedal saftey switch. I'm not really sure how all that works but I'm assuming that is controled at the ECU. I'm using the ECU from the AT untill I receive the new ecu, Ive been told it will run with that for now, but the check engine light will stay on. Considering I'm still using the AT ecu I'm guessing the computer will not look for the saftey switch and should start without it... am I correct? If not is there any way I will be able to start the car without the switch installed? I do not want to wait another 5 days to start the car after we finished installation. Thanks

If your auto tranny had a computer than there must be in inhibitor switch that is controlled by the tranny computer. If this is the case there is a way to bypass since you now have a manual tranny. Find the starter wires in the inhibitor, cut and splice them together, thus completing the circuit and eliminating the clutch neutral safety switch that would be found on manuals. This is what I did when I converted my auto to manual transmission. I hope this info isn't too late and might help you out.

Clutch peddle switch? A/T to M/T swap.

I'm doing a a/t to m/t swap and I was wonder what you do with the clutch peddle switch as far as hooking it up.

I going to run a stage 3 eprom for stutterbox and I got to thinking about hooking up the clutch peddle wire and then I thought well hell how so I even hook up the clutch peddle switch because auto's dont even have them.

What do people do for that when doing a a/t to m/t swap?
