I got my new clutch put in couple weeks ago. Before i got my new clutch,it would make a ringing noise every time i let of the clutch pedal as soon as i touch the pedal the noise went away.Every one I talked to said it was a realease bearing. So i purchased a new clutch and the realease bearing, and the noise came back couple days later.Does anyone know what this could be??thanks

i responded to this thread the first time you posted it. i said that the same thing happened to me too but on my stock clutch. my mechanic said it was the throwout bearing. he replaced it and it didn't stop that noise. a couple weeks later my tranny locked up on me so i got a JDM tranny. i'm not saying it is but it's possible that'll you'll need a tranny.

is there any other problems with your car that you think is related to your transmission? mine at first would pop out of 5th going down the road once in a while. then that clutch thing, then it was really hard to shift in some gears, then it was like shaking when downshifting, finally it locked up.

i hope this won't happen to you unless you feel like getting a JDM tranny or one from a junkyard. this may not be the problem but i just wanted to let you know what happened to my car because i had that same clutch problem.

yeah that's what i'm talking about. same thing happened to me but it wasn't an aftermarket clutch. i had the throwout bearing replaced but that wasn't the problem, it was still making that noise. a couple weeks later my tranny locked up on me

I have had the same problem...and I never got to change the clutch or bearings cause the mechanics checked the tranny and it was shot..Needed to chenge the whole tranny and put ina new clutch:-( I ad insurance so I didnt have to pay for it but still....Check it up real good casue it could be the tranny going to pieces soon:-((

yup it could be your whole tranny man. for me i just had the tranny replaced because there was nothing wrong with the clutch at all, it was fine. i would check the tranny just like "eurogstspyder" said.

oh yeah that too, it grind going from 1st to 2nd, sometimes i couldn't if get it from neutral to first or any gear actually, it wouldn't move at all. i can't remember specifics it's been a while but it did make a lot of noise and vibrated like when downshifting and stuff like that

if your having the same problem or similar i would definately get it checked out.

I couldnt get in reverse sometimes..felt as it was stuck totally.THen I put in 1st and tried again and it would work....Also had some weird grinding noices sometimes....From the time i noticed it til the mechanics checked the car it was like three weeks..and when I came in with it he sais: Damn you are lycky this didnt blow up on ya cause its really bad" and I have only heard this for a few weeks...didnt drive much so...careful if oyu are out driving..better check it first!

my tranny is fine no shifting problems,i was trhinking maybe the noise has something to do with the master slave cylinder?what could it be,i replaced the realse bearing 2 weeks ago

i had some pretty bad grinding and other wierd noises but then i read the syncro mesh form and i tried it and my car shifts like butter

I was driving down the road fine a couple of days ago, the car felt really good no problems whatsoever...u know us DSM guys have godlike ears so we can hear anything thats wrong with our cars but anyways i have an ACT 2600 clutch that has about 4 or 5000 miles on it. i did have a noise kinda like the one u guys have mentioned, it would stop when i press in the clutch.... so i was waitinig on this light to go green and when it did i went to clutch in and the car wouldn't go into gear, i still feel pressure on the clutch but it won't engage... now i started the car in 1st gear with the clutch in and the car would make this noise kinda like something was grinding, the car would also try to move as if i was depressing the clutch.... master cylinder is basically new was replaced about a year ago.. dunno about the slave cylinder, looks old.... i need help cause i don't want to take it to SATAN before i know whats wrong with it, any suggestions would be appreciated...... its a 96 GST .. also the tranny felt good, no problems shitfting..... oh and the fluid level is fine
