I was just wondering what kind of lsd you would put into the gsx? A center with a front one also? Or just a center lsd?

does the stock vcu lock the front and rear wheels together at the same time?? i know on a fwd you would use a front lsd, and that would lock both wheels together. How does it work on an awd?

The normal action of the center diff is to split the torque 50/50 between front and rear. The VCU has two set of plates in it one set for each side of the VCU in silicon oil. When plates rotate at different speeds the silicon oil starts draging on the faster plates and pulling on he slower plates transfering torque to the slower side. As the difference increases the oil begins to heat up and expand. At some point the expanding oil forces the plates together much like a multidisk clutch and locks them together in a state called hump mode. Normally the plates aren't locked and the oil balances the torque transfer.

ok, thnx. Would like a phantom grip center lsd replace the VCU? Why is it better? Stronger or what?

Phantom Grip only fits in the front diff. not in the center diff. The VCU works well for daily use and agressive driving, but fot hard drag race launches there are center diff. lockers, such as welding the diff, and installing a spool. check out TeamRip.com, BMtranny.com
