Hey all, I'm new here and just picked up a m/t 99 GSX a week ago. The car only has 14000 miles and is less than 6 years old so I'm assuming it's still covered under the extended powertrain warranty. I wanted to get it inspected for possible crankwalk early so I don' thave bigger headaches later. If I take it to Mitsu, they should inspect it and change the bearings and stuff for no charge right?

You can do that if the tech knows how to look for it. I don't see the shop having someone check it for free. You can also do it your self by getting a digital Micrometer and pulling the flywheel service cover under the car (FWD) and following the added procedure.

Read the FWD portion than click on the AWD link for your car to check yourself. The only way your gonna learn anything about your car is doing it yourself. I never trust what a mechanic says unless its out of my scope of understanding.
