My brother's buddy is selling a `94 Talon ES with 69,000 for $3K. He tells me the transmission is having problems and he thinks it it screwed. I'm thinking of picking it up as a winter car but was unsure of the tranny problem, let me describe it and let me know what you guys think. When crusing at about 40 and you punch it the tranny downshifts and the engine revs up drops real fast then revs right up again and pulls. It drives like if you were to drop it into 2nd, tranny downshifts, now your cruising in 2nd gear around 3,000 rpm's and you punch it the car goes woowrrrmmwoorrrrrrrrrr, as if you floored it, let off for 1/4 sec and then nailed it again. Any ideas?

it sounds like your tranny is slipping. Thats what my stick shift sounded like when the clutch was slipping. you might wanna flush out your tanny and replace the tranny filter if it has one; than see how she does. If all else fails ride it out till she dies and swap to a manual or replace it with another auto. Either way if you replace it; it is best to try and sell the old one or use it as a core. I hope this helps:thumb:
