Ok I bought a 2g with a new motor but I knew the clutch was going out before I bought it. So now I have it and I want to get a clutch in there. I used the search button for clutch recommendations and it seems everyone says ACT 2600 is the best. Now I dont want to have to deal with a really heavy pedal because this is my only car, I drive it everyday. As far as peformance plans later on, Im really not sure yet. I love to race auto X and go to open track days at the strip or at a race course, so I do it all. What would you guys recommend as far as the clutch goes? If you own the clutch, that makes it even better. Now my second question is tranny removal. I looked in the book and it says the best route is to pull the motor. Now I have never pulled the tranny on these cars before but I have on our 69 vette quite a few times. Please let me know personal expeirence, thats always the best.

For your use, I'd say the 2600 is too much, and I'm one of those who suspects it might be too much for the crank thrust bearing as well.

I read the FAQs for clutch swaps, and decided it was worth it to me to put the responsiblity and sweat on a shop. I've done enough of that stuff in my life, now I hire it out.

So whats a step down from the 2600? Right now I dont have the money to pay for labor so I am forced to do it myself. Saving for collage is a bi***. I just need to know if pulling the engine is the easiest way to get at the tranny? Also what would you guys recommend as far as a clutch goes for me?
