My transmission is garbage at this point and my ACT 2100 sprung 6 puck just started to slip. So its rebuild time! What would be best with what I have and maybe a little room to grow?

If a different brand is suggested as well, will my ACT flywheel work with another brand? Thanks

i would look into the ACT 2600 kits, and the Southbend Clutch kits. two of my favorites.

Southbend will work great with an ACT flywheel, if the flywheel is stepped properly, just like any other DSM clutch needs. I'd recommend having the flywheel step height checked as I've had new act flywheels that were out of spec (& you should probably have it resurfaced anyway).

Depending on your goals, you should be able to pickup a southbend setup that works well for you. I'm running the TZ/FE disk with SS PP & its held my DSM82 HTA @ up to 36psi without any issues. It basically feels like stock as well.

Im running the act 2600pp, and street lite flywheel.

A south-bend Kevlar clutch is between them. It works perfect.

pedal pressure is of course a little harder. engagement a little stickier. I can drive in stop and go just fine. But I do hate stop ang go just as much as any MT car driver. Doesn't have anything to do with my setup.

My car is my DD so I became adjusted to it within a week. Takes just as long to get used to as driving a new car (or different manual car, not necessarily a sporty car)

My goal is to max out my bastard 20g. Not too much left in it. Its seeing 40lbs/min now. Have a meth kit sitting around ready to go. Possibly upgrading to a FP black down the road. Just need a little growing room on the clutch is all. I know its only a matter of time on the 3bolt rear too.

Im moving April 27th and will have a garage once again. Gonna stick with the 90 trans and tackle the rebuild myself. New slave and master will be in the budget too. Kinda happy the clutch went when it did. The car went out of DD and back into toy status a month ago.

Ill give these clutches suggested a look at. Thanks :thumb:

I have a ACT 2600 street disk with heavy duty pressure plate. I run that on my car now before i had to do my rebuild on my block. I have a stage 4 transmission rebuild and it holds up fine.

Another vote here for South Bend. I have the SS (2200lb) pressure plate and TZ (kevlar) disk. It handled whatever my 16g could throw at it including high 1s 60-footers, and is still holding strong with my bolt-on HX40.

The pedal feel is extremely light, lighter than the OEM Exedy clutch I had in before. The engagement isn't too harsh either. It's comparable to a full face ACT disk, nothing like a dual friction setup where it feels like an on/off switch.

Roughly how many miles on your south bend? I lasted 55k on my clutch. They where hard miles too. Right after I got Dsmlink and could wake the car up I noticed the pedal release changing. That was roughly 8k ago. Got my NLTS hooked up a few days ago and thats what did it in. Also had 8 passed at the track this season.

I also tried to search for south bend and havent came across any with the few vendors i looked up.

Not many miles, I'd say a few thousand. But within that period it's seen over 25 hard launches and about 1k miles at (what I'd estimate to be) well over 400hp.

The only vendor I know of is TMZ. Their site is under construction currently, but you can still order from them. TMZ Performance

My site is down? It looks up to me?
