Has anybody ever put dexron 3 automatic trans fluid in there 5 spd tranny !

I heard that if your tranny is starting to grind you can run automatic trans fluid in it because it is thinner and it will help it shift but it can make your tranny run hotter. anybody evere heard this. thanks !

It will renew your transmission. Once your current one dies from running ATF in it, you'll have to replace it.
Don't do it. ATF is for the friction clutches in an automatic. Use anyone's Synchro lube.
