:dsm: my tranny makes a horrible grinding noise going into 2nd 3rd and 4th gear and i can put the pedal on the floor and it still does it . I have a new clutch and master cylinder so I dont know whats up any info would be great thanks.

sounds like a typical DSM, worn out syncros, tranny. Probably needs all the syncros replaced or you need to do some shifter box, cables, shifter cable mount adjusting. What kind of tranny fluid do you use and when was the last time you checked it/changed it?

Try putting in some GM Synchromesh and see if that helps at all. By the sound of it though, you need new synchro's. The synchro's are accualy fairly cheap, but unless you can do it yourself, the labour is going to kill you.

Yea i have the same problem. I actually fixed a lot of it by tightening some ends in the linkage. It made the shift a lot more stiff with less play, but i still need to replace the syncros and my cluctch needs a replacement. BTW are there such things as transmission rebuild kits?
