Could you get shortblock + tranny out this way?

Today I was trying to get a FWD 5spd tranny out of my N/T parts car and didn't quite get there :banghead: The engine bay is almost bare except for the shortblock + tranny and the only mount in there is the rear one. So I was thinking maybe I could remove the ?center subframe member? support engine with hydraulic jack, remove rear mount, lower jack so everything can rest on a small dolly. Now here is where it gets weird but I was thinking I could jack up the car enough to roll motor/tranny out from underneath -or- remove front bumper and get midevil on it by cutting an opening in car frame so I can roll out motor on dolly that way. Do either of those sound like it'll work? I have no access to a hoist and don't want to borrow, beg, or steal one either LOL. thx

You can drop it from the bottom, but don't cut up the car to get it out. Unless its just a junk car ha.

I say take it out in two pieces. Drop the tranny first and wiggle that out of there from the bottom then do the same with the short block.

Problem is I can't get motor mount bracket off the tranny which makes separating it from motor not that possible while in engine bay (at least I couldn't get it out yesterday). So I'm probably going to lower both motor + tranny onto dolly and jack up car and roll it out. Would like to know if that's going to be a major pita tho..

Oh yeah, I don't want to cut frame up after all because the last parts car seen here I had a flatbed use a winch around the front part of frame to lift front up since there were no wheels on front and donuts on back. Btw here's a pic of that car just before flatbed hauled it off and any thoughts on part out technique is appreciated. Left windshield on because it was cracked and this time might try to remove rear quarter panels to sell but seems like it might be a real pain so not sure..
