Well, this is really annoying, I've had no other problems with my car since buying it except for the damn slave cylinder on the tranny. I replaced the first one when it started gradually leaking all the fluid out more and more, and now this one is doing to same thing. I haven't had a chance to look at this one yet, but it will leak most of the fluid out in an 8 hour period, if not all of the fluid. It also seems to just leak when it wants to, sometimes I check it and it's empty and sometimes it's still full. Hard shifting seems to dump all of the fluid out, for example after shifting into 2nd and 3rd at around 6000rpm(again, shifting fast/hard), the fluid will be depleted and I'm lucky to get out of gear(note: this is only experience from tonight, I haven't been doing this daily). I can also feel somewhat of a grind in the clutch pedal about halfway down when pushing it all the way in, which causes an audible click/grind somewhere, havent pinpointed it yet.

Anyway, sorry for the long ass paragraph, but does anyone have an idea what would be causing me to keep blowing these damn things? Could improper adjustment of the adjustment rod on the clutch pedal assembly do this? Any ideas will be appreciated, this is a pain in the ass, I had to stop in the middle of the busiest road in Charlotte, flick the hazards on, and fill up the damn resevoir and pump the pedal for 10 minutes to get pressure.

TIA,

Hey, I just got done replacng my master and slave for pretty much the same reason, when I went to remove the hydraulic line from the slave cylinder I noticed it leaking from there. When I went to remove it, the adapter just broke right off. Check the hydraulic lines and see if they're leaking at all, I doubt that you went through another slave, just jack the car up and wiggle the line a bit and see if that causes it to spill more fluid, it's like a $4 part that you need + a $5 pipe bender, hope this helps

The hydraulic line is new, replaced for the same reason as yours, it was leaking and ended up snapping off in the old slave cylinder. Tomorrow I'm gonna get under it and see where it's leaking from, thanks for the help though.

Put a broomstick or the like through the steering wheel to hold down the clutch pedal, and with a rag to shield the wheel, clamp vise-grips on the stick to hold it down while you look for leaks. Pull back the bellows on the slave so it won't hide a leak. Also try it at half-pedal or so, my original slave (70K miles) was fine for driving, but if I had to do any parking stuff where I'd be slipping the clutch, it'd leak there.

i had the same problem....

i changed the hydraulic line 3 times, and the slave cylinder once...

just buy the SS braided clutch line from RRE for $20.... that took care of it for me, havent had any problems since, and now i have a spare slave cylinder :)

you'll also notice the clutch will engage a tad quicker...

if you have any questions send me a pm or email

So the SS line replaces that hydraulic line on the slave? Also, is there some kind of thread sealant I could use until the SS line comes, or anything non-permanent to seal it?

Thanks for the help,
Spidey

[edit]NM about what it replaces, I found the info, but I'm still wondering if there is anything I can use to seal the thread on the hydraulic line/slave for now.[edit]
