The car is a 92 AWD in the 12's and shooting for high 11's

I just ruined my second gear syncro so it looks like its time to rebuild. I'm pricing options for the tranny I need help deciding on a few things.

-Double syncro 2nd. I really want this one because thats the weak part that broke on my tranny. Are these things really that great and do they hold up to drag racing well?

-Evo shift forks. Are the stock ones really that weak? Do the evo forks need machining to fit? TRE's forks are double the price of Conicelli's Evo forks, is there a reason for that? Also, is this something that can be done easily later without removing the tranny if a fork breaks?

-Steel shift rails. I have heard that these are as important as the evo forks. Are the stock iron rails likely to fail during hard shifting? Again, can these be added at a later date?

All new syncros are a must, and i think i will need at least 2 new gears, 3rd and 4th. Does the syncro kit from TRE cover everything? I dont understand what the deal is with their $180 1st through 5th syncro set. What about hubs and sleeves? Are those included. There is an extra charge for the syncro set if you have a double syncro second gear....if im paying $300 for the double 2nd, do i have to pay extra for the double second syncro set?

This is a lot of questions, and I hope someone here can help me out a bit. I will probably have to just call TRE anyway but a heads up on some of these questions at least would be great.

Double syncros are a great thing to have and I have had great results with mine. The Evo forks and shift rails are one of the better things i personally have had done, the factory forks in are cars bite a$$ and I had a broken one any way, as far as shift rails I did replace mine but that was just a precaution. As far as price dif between the two I don't know. I used BMtranny for what I need. You should have everything done at once because tearing down the tranny everytime youget a part will become a bit of a pain. Hope I could help a bit.:thumb:

Really? That is very insteresting. Why is that? Is it a strength issue or something else?

I would be perfectly fine using stock forks and saving the $160. I doubt the stock ones would fail, since I dont shift THAT hard.

And I am thinking I can get away with the stock rails. I have never heard of one failing, usually its the forks that go. How much are new stock forks, and would buying new stock forks decrease the chance of failure? Do they "wear out" or just have a threshold past which they break no matter what?

This is the first i have heard, is there anything in paticular that is wrong with the forks themselves or is it just a bad batch that was shipped to the US? I might also state that the forks from BMtranny are billet forks and not Evo forks.
